Today was Addikis’s very important vet visit. Though she was definitely not happy about it, it was much needed.
For the past month, I have noticed a lump on top of her eye and discharge around her nipples. That night we took her to the ER, but they were no help. So then we took her to a small animal clinic asap. The vet says that she probably has parisite or a bacterial infection since she has been itching like crazy. And the lumps and discharge around her nipples might be a sign of cancer, but it has to be further examined. If its positive and is causing her pain, she may have to be euthanized. But since she is still a very happy and active hammy we are going to let it be for now.
Addikis is a little over 2 and is very old (and that’s the average lifespan of a hamster), so surgery is highly not recommended. Currently, she is on medication for her itchiness (5ml of Teva-Trimel every 12 hours) and will visit the vet in 2 weeks.
I will make sure she has the best and most comfortable living environment before she goes… I wish for nothing but happiness for my little mochi ball.
Also, my best friend Sophie has been in surgery today. This lil Frenchie has cancer and is getting some of her tumors removed… I know that she will be okay because she is a strong and tough puppers.
I love you friends
Love,
Tiffy
